Polyester thermoplastics are very hardy and versatile materials that are suitable for a wide variety of applications. In general, polyesters exhibit a good balance of strength, stiffness, and toughness, as well as excellent chemical resistance and good dielectric properties. Tensile strength can vary from 7,000 to 23,000 psi. Polyesters are well-suited to high-temp applications; select types/grades can withstand temperatures up to 470°F (243°C).
